Michael Schumann - HTML Engineer, “Father of Actions”, and all-around nifty guy has created this action to allow designers to “freeze” an element in a specific position relative to the browser window.
The Example at right is a Layout Area set around the X=375 pixel point on the screen. If you scroll this window down, you´ll see that “Freeze” text stay right where it appeared originally (or, if you´re on a Netscape browser, it´ll “hop” back to it´s original position while you´re scrolling - sorry gang, Netscape doesn´t handle this as fluidly as IE does).
Go ahead, scroll down... pretty cool, eh?
You can download the two files needed for you to use this CSS Action here, and at the “Download” link up near the top of the page.
In order to set up this Action on your copy of NetObjects Fusion, download the ZIP archive file and expand it, then copy the Freeze.jsb and Freeze.js files into your “NetObjects System” folder (inside your “NetObjects Fusion folder). The next time you start NetObjects Fusion, this Action will be available any time you target a Layout Area with an Action - it will be at the bottom of the “Object” menu.
The Action I used to freeze the “Freeze” graphic (which is, by the way, in a layout region called “Freeze”) is

When -> Page -> Page Loaded Target -> (“Freeze” Layout Region) Message -> Object -> Freeze Region Parameter(s) -> Values...

Make a note - you must select Values from the Parameters menu, and then click “OK”, even if you do not make any changes to the “Netscape” value. Don´t ask me why, that´s just the way it is... |
