WHY IS WAP IMPORTANT?

WAP allows developers to create and support wireless device applications. With an estimated 100 million users worldwide by the end of the year 2000, the wireless device market presents a significant business opportunity for developers.

The types of services which can benefit from WAP technology include: message notification and call management, e-mail, information services (news, weather, sports, stocks, traffic) , e-commerce and banking services, and online address books and directory services.

To access the WML Documentation From the ScriptBuilder InfoDesk Reference you need two WML and WMLScript language "books." To link from these books to actual WML and WMLScript documentation, you will need to do the following:

Go to the WAP Forum web site and download the following Adobe Acrobat files:
    wml_19990815.pdf
    wmlscript_19990815.pdf

Place the local copy of wml_19990815.pdf into the following directory:

    <Install Directory>\InfoDeskDocs\WML 1.0 Reference

Place the local copy of wmlscript_19990815.pdf into the following directory:

    <Install Directory>\InfoDeskDocs\WMLScript 1.0 Reference

If you do not have Adobe Acrobat installed on your system, you will need to go to the Adobe web site (
http://www.adobe.com) and download and install the latest version. Your system is now ready to view WML and WMLScript documentation from within the InfoDesk. For instructions on how to use the InfoDesk, see ScriptBuilder documentation.
