Message from NetObjects about nPower 10:
nPower 10 will only collaborate with websites designed or maintained in Fusion 10. nPower 10 WILL NOT collaborate with websites still maintained in Fusion 9 or lower.
Can I use nPower 10 with versions older than Fusion 10?
No. NetObjects nPower 10 is compatible only with sites designed with Fusion 10. Please contact your web designer or site administrator to confirm which version of Fusion was used to build your site before upgrading to nPower 10.
What exactly can I protect from editing?
Designers can protect everything from individual page elements (text, images, graphics, navigation, etc.) to the elements that make up the overall site look & feel (Layout Areas, MasterBorders, page structure etc.). Designers also have control over the exact nature of any changes - for example, an image may be moved and resized, but only with the same aspect ratio and cannot ever be deleted. Or a designer can decide that text can be edited, but that it’s position on the page cannot.
I want my client to only make changes to one page on the website. Is that possible?
Yes – just make sure that every other page of the site is protected from editing.
My client is technically savvy. Can I offer a site that has no editing restrictions?
Yes – The designer can lock as much, or as little, of a website’s editing functions as desired.
My site was designed with Web design software other than NetObjects Fusion – can I use nPower to manage my site content?
No - NetObjects nPower is designed to integrate with NetObjects Fusion 10 manages sites only. All of the site protections, version controls and editing functions are managed by a designer with NetObjects Fusion 10.
Is nPower a web-based editor?
No – NetObjects nPower is software that must be installed on a client’s PC in order for them to make edits to their site.
Is there any kind of monthly or yearly subscription service charges to use nPower?
No – Once a copy of nPower has been purchased, there is no additional fees or recurring charges.
I have more than one person that need to make changes to the same site – is that possible?
Yes – The site check-out feature will ensure that their changes are not overwritten. Each PC must have a separate licensed copy of NetObjects nPower installed.
I manage a corporate website – with lots of different departments needing to make changes. But I don’t want to give accounting access to the Sales section of the site. Would nPower work for me?
Yes – The NetObjects Fusion web designer has the ability to set up the web site in sections that would become their own separate departmental directories, from there he can distribute sections of the web site to the separate departments, each with their own unique protection options.
