RELEASE NOTES
Highlights
- A News component has been added that allows you to easily manage announcements and the latest news on your site.
- All generated code now meets W3C HTML 4.01 Transitional standards.
- The Align tab has been moved to the second tab position.
- The default unit of measure for text and CSS is now pixels.
- Support for active content. Site visitors using Microsoft Internet Explorer will no longer have to click to activate pages that contain Flash or other active content.
- Testimonials now allow the Admin to approve visitor posts before they are displayed publicly.
- The object handle size has been increased to improve usability when manipulating objects on a page.
- When exporting a site template, it is now possible to include Local Profiles with the template.
- The minimum thickness for the line shape tool may now be as small as 1 pixel.
Code Generation
- The “Table Row is a form” option has been deprecated to meet the W3C recommendations.
- All new object IDs are created as single tokens.
- Scripts containing upper and lower case syntax are no longer modified to lower case when inserted inside the Body Tag.
- When applying actions or other script-related tasks, an additional META declaration is created in the <head> section in order to identify the document default scripting language.
CSS
- When applying a text box, the typed text and background no longer appear black on black when Image is set to “None” and Color is set to “Transparent” in the Style View > Page Background options.
- The OL/UL tags are no longer removed when a list is un-indented.
- In the Style View, the Background image’s position (when set to Center) is saved after the Manage Styles dialog is closed.
- Table borders are now displayed to meet CSS 2.1 standards.
Forms
- Objects can now be repositioned by dragging them by their labels.
- Hidden fields are no longer added to the list when the Cancel button is clicked.
- Using the File Selector feature now automatically sets the form Method to “Post” and Encoding type to “multipart/form-data”.
- The Close Window Button now works on pages that contain Frames.
- The multi-line form element now supports validation options.
Components
- The Rotating Picture component now displays ALT tags correctly.
- The Rotating Picture component now marks all used pictures as “In Use” in the Asset View, thus allowing for improved site exporting.
- The Rotating Picture allows image paths to be entered in the picture browser field.
- Image paths in the Rotating Picture component are no longer modified when the site exported (when using the Versions Manager with the component).
- The Rotating Picture component now accepts upper or lower case image file extensions.
- The Secure Page component no longer shows a broken image on the published page if the “Show secure logo” option is selected and the image path is blank.
- The published page of a component that includes an added Button from the Standard Controls no longer displays the text LABEL on the published page.
- The Forms Handler component no longer generates an “Error 110” message when submitting the form.
- The OK button for adding a component suite is initially disabled until a suite name is entered.
Plug-ins
- The DynaButton component has been updated to be compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- It is now possible to add the Windows Media Player option from the Plug-Ins > Active X control list.
Navigation
- Additional space and borders are no longer generated when switching between graphical and text navigation.
- Navigation text no longer wraps on publish pages when the character limit extends the object width.
Actions
- Actions added to the Text Navigation bar no longer cause Page objects to shift position.
- The “Go To URL” JavaScript action no longer generates an error.
- The “Show” action now works correctly when used with the Fixed Page layout.
- It is now possible to modify actions that have been entered as scripted actions.
- The “Set Image” and “Use Image” actions now work correctly when applied.
- Fusion no longer generates an error when publishing a page containing form elements with scripted actions.
Application Errors
- Unexpected application shut-down resolved when selecting the page layout from the Object Tree.
- Unexpected application shut-down resolved when editing text from imported CSS style sheets.
- Unexpected application shut-down resolved when following this sequence of operations: text has been linked, the site is closed and re-opened, and the linked text box is selected for editing.
- Moving bulleted lists within a table no longer generates an object-damaged error.
- Unexpected application shut-down resolved when repeatedly adding and removing the Site Mapper component.
- Merging cells that contain images no longer generates an Invalid Argument error.
Miscellaneous
- The Version Manager messaging has been updated to remove extraneous warnings.
- Okb files are no longer generated in the User Sites folder.
- The height of the text box is retained when it is locked and the Size Layout to Text option is selected.
- The instructions for implementing a Form on the Newsletter page of the Site Wizard have been corrected.
- When using the Shape tool with Text in Element selected, the alignment of content now displays correctly.
- File links are now updated to be relative to where NetObjects Fusion is installed.
- Undo menu contains appropriate reference when protected options are applied.

The following documentation items have been changed in this update:
- Chapter 7 - Controlling Published Output - Pages 104-105
The ‘Netscape Navigator 4.x’ option is now unchecked by default so that the generated code should be W3C HTML 4.01 transitional standard compliant. These pages have been updated to reflect that the ‘Netscape Navigator 4.x’ option is not supported by Netscape 6.x and above and is not compatible with HTML 4.01 standards.
- Chapter 15 - Adding tables - Page 251
The “Row is a form” option has been deprecated to meet the W3C recommendations. This page has been updated to reflect that a column can be made a form.
- Chapter 25 - Designing and Implementing Forms - Page 453
When adding the File Selector Box, the Form’s method and encoding values are automatically updated. This chapter now specifies that adding the File Selector Box automatically updates the Form’s method and encoding value.
- Chapter 26 - Using NetObjects Fusion Components - Page 472
It is now possible to validate Guestbook entries prior to them being displayed on the web page. This page has been updated to reflect the new checkbox associated with the validation requirement.
- Chapter 26 - Using NetObjects Fusion Components - Pages 483-505
A News Component has been added. The News component provides an easy way to incorporate News Articles into your page. This chapter now contains documentation for the latest component feature, including adding and customizing the News Component.
- Chapter 31 - Publishing Your Site - Pages 718 -719
When checked, the ‘Generate NOF-specific attributes’ option generates code that is not compatible with HTML 4.01 standards. This chapter contains new information about the ‘Generate NOF-specific attributes’ option, updating the old information to reflect the conditions necessary in order to have valid code when creating a new site from an existing one.

Update 2 Revised addresses some issues that were raised by the user community following the original release of Update 2 and required immediate attention. These items have been appended to the list below. If you installed Update 2 (version 5019), please download and install the new Update 2 Revised. Following installation, your software will be fully updated to version 5020.

Update Contents
Note: Several new enhancements and fixes have been added to the interactive components in Update #2. These enhancements include a Suite Selector for multiple components per site, editable e-mail fields for components that include e-mail communication, and the ability to publish components without having to make a selection in Publish view. To take advantage of these new enhancements and fixes it is necessary to add the component using the updated version of Fusion v9.0. (Exisiting components will continue to work as they did previously, however they will not utilize the new enhancements and fixes offered in Update #2.)

Update Contents
The following items have been changed in this update:
- After clearing a link in the components properties palette the link text is now cleared
- Numeric values can now be set above 99 in the component properties palettes
- Creating versioning repositories now displays warnings and a new text box allows the creation of the repository outside the publish profile path

Coolmaps QuickFix

The following files have extra stuff in them that needs to be deleted
atomz.jar coolConfirm.jar sendletter.jar SlideShow.jar SlideShowButtons.jar
All of these files are located in the components/coolmaps folder
First, close Fusion.
Then double click these files (they should open up in WinZip or something like that). Delete the com.netobjects folder entirely. Do this for each file that you have that is listed above.
Reopen Fusion ... Things should work now.
