NetObjects Inc launched its European operation on October 1st 1997. Parkinson will be responsible for establishing the company’s European headquarters in the UK and offices in France and Germany.

Commenting on his appointment, Parkinson says, I’m excited about taking one of Silicon Valley’s hottest startups into new markets. Parkinson has over 15 years of experience in the computer industry with companies including DEC, System Industries and Racal Communications. His European experience has included senior marketing roles at Zenith Data Systems, based in Paris, France. He was also director of northern Europe for Traveling Software, focusing on the UK, Benelux and Nordic region. More recently, he established the French operation for Xircom which included creating and managing the distribution and reseller channels from its base in Paris. Prior to joining NetObjects, Parkinson held the position of UK sales and marketing director with Stream International, achieving record results in terms of profitability and 25% revenue growth.
