NetObjects Supports Netscape One™ OpenNetwork Environment for Building Rich, Distributed Internet Content and Applications
NetObjects Licenses JavaScriptTM for New NetObjects FusionTM Web Site Building Tool

Redwood City, CA, July 29, 1996 -- NetObjects, Inc., today announced NetObjects Fusion, an innovative Web site building software application, that includes extensive, powerful, and unique support for the Netscape One open software platform.

In addition, NetObjects has signed a Netscape One licensing agreement with Netscape to use the JavaScript development environment in future NetObjects products. This will give Web site developers easy access to the power of open, cross-platform, Internet scripting. The agreement makes NetObjects one of the first developers to support Netscape One.

NetObjects and Netscape also plan to actively promote the use of JavaScript in connection with NetObjects Fusion through co-marketing activities, including a special section on the NetObjects Web site for users to post their JavaScripts and links to JavaScript resources on the Web, as well as links to NetObjects from the Netscape Web site.

"NetObjects Fusion is one of the most exciting Web site authoring tools we've seen," said Mike Homer, Netscape Senior Vice President of Marketing. "We are pleased by NetObjects' support of Netscape One, and look forward to working together in the future."

NetObjects Fusion is the first smart Web site building software application that integrates automated site building, professional-quality design, and data publishing features. Early users think that compared to other tools, NetObjects Fusion's visual, site-oriented metaphor makes building sophisticated Web sites much easier and faster. In addition, NetObjects Fusion is truly open -- it generates standard HTML, allows users to easily embed their own HTML tags or source code, and does not require any proprietary server extensions.

"Web site builders need help integrating the various Web standards, and they need a Web site building application that will easily grow with them as Web standards evolve," said Samir Arora, CEO of NetObjects.

"NetObjects is taking an open, extensible approach that embraces all of the Web's major standards, while also paying particular attention to Netscape's innovations."

NetObjects Fusion includes strong support for the Netscape software platform, including the Netscape Open Network Environment. NetObjects Fusion makes it easy to integrate unique Netscape technologies such as Font Names, LiveConnect, LiveAudio, LiveVideo, background colors in tables, as well as provides full support for Netscape Navigator plug-ins.
