Novell Selects NetObjects Fusion As Key Component Of "Taking It to The Street" Intranet Promotion
Award-winning Web Site Building Software Enables Corporations To Easily Build Intranets

Redwood City, CA, April 14, 1997 -- NetObjects, Inc. today announced that NetObjects Fusion, its award-winning Web site building product, has been selected by Novell as a key component of its "Taking It To the Street" intranet promotion.

Launched a month ago, "Taking it to the Street" is an innovative initiative under which Novell works with select customers to help them build world-class intranets. Novell provides a suite of best-of-breed products including NetObjects Fusion, IntranetWare, GroupWise, ManageWise, the Oracle 7 database, and the AT&T WorldNet Intranet Connect Services. Successful intranet installations to date include The Sundance Institute, the US Ski Team and Greyhound Corporation.

"As we empower Netware customers to unleash the power of the intranet, we are constantly looking for innovative products that complement our own," said Coleman Barney, Novell's senior director of marketing for Intranetware. " We selected NetObjects Fusion because it is the only site-oriented product and one that allows users to rapidly create intranet sites and easily maintain them over time."

IntranetWare incorporates industry-leading networking services with intranet and Internet capabilities, creating a comprehensive solution for building corporate intranets. According to the most recent market analysis from International Data Corporation, Novell continues to lead as the worldwide server operating system provider in terms of total license shipments. Some of Novell's large customers include: Ameritech, Baxter, Chrysler, Fedex, Ford, J.P. Morgan, Lufthansa, State Farm and others.

"NetObjects Fusion is an open standards-based product that equally leverages the potential of all platforms," said Mark Patton, NetObjects' vice president of corporate marketing and sales. "We commend Novell on creating a real-world initiative and adopting an open approach to technology to provide corporations with useful applications of the Web."

NetObjects is widely recognized as pioneering the category of "site-oriented" Web site building software -- an approach that begins with the site, rather than the page, as the primary entity. NetObjects Fusion 2.0, has won several industry awards, including CNET's 1997 Internet Excellence award for the Best Web Design Tool. Since the introduction of NetObjects Fusion in September 1996, over 150,000 site builders have downloaded it to build thousands of media-rich Web sites. NetObjects 2.0 for Windows and NetObjects 1.0 for Power Macintosh are available today for an expected street price of under $500 in North America via Ingram Micro, a network of resellers and VARs and directly from NetObjects.
