Redwood City, Calif., May 4, 1998 - NetObjects, Inc. today launched ScriptBuilder.com (www.scriptbuilder.com), an online resource dedicated to developers creating both client- and server-side scripts to add sophisticated animation effects and interactivity, advanced transaction capabilities, and other application functionality to Internet and intranet sites.
Unlike other online resources, ScriptBuilder.com does not concentrate on any specific scripting language or platform, but rather provides developers a vast, independent reference resource for multiple languages and platforms. Scripting languages supported include JavaScript, VBScript, JScript, XML and LotusScript as well as Netscape server-side JavaScript (LiveWire) and Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP).

The site will offer valuable resources to developers who want to create cross browser scripts that provide site visitors an interactive, personalized user experience. ScriptBuilder.com will be supported by industry partners Netscape, Lotus and WIRED's Webmonkey, who will provide relevant content and help promote the site.

- An open Script Library where developers can search, download, and see examples of what a particular script will do. Scripts are categorized by various criteria (browser support, language version etc.) in order to facilitate the search process. In addition, users are encouraged to contribute their own scripts to the library.
- An active Forums area where developers can post and receive answers to questions, read and download tutorials on new scripting technologies, learn helpful tips and tricks as well as read articles and news stories pertaining to scripting trends and development issues.
- A searchable discussion area that will help evolve the site into a user-driven community.
- A compatibility reference that developers can use to learn which scripts are optimized for which browser.
