Redwood City, California, January 4, 1999 -- NetObjects, Inc. today announced the shipment of NetObjects Authoring Server Connector for Microsoft FrontPage, a product that integrates Microsoft FrontPage users into the controlled and collaborative Intranet development environment provided by NetObjects Authoring Server Suite 3.0, the leading collaborative Web authoring product.
"The Authoring Server Connector for Microsoft FrontPage offers our customers an easy way to integrate their FrontPage users into the NetObjects Authoring Server environment rather than force them to switch authoring tools," said Morris Taradalsky, executive vice president of the enterprise division at NetObjects. "Today's announcement is the first example of the evolution of the Authoring Server into an open development platform that includes support for non-NetObjects clients."
As more and more companies standardize collaborative Web authoring on NetObjects Authoring Server Suite, many IT departments are faced with the task of integrating FrontPage users and their sites into the Authoring Server environment. The new Authoring Server Connector for Microsoft FrontPage solves both problems and provides additional benefits.
Legacy FrontPage-generated files can be uploaded to NetObjects Authoring Server where the page, and its associated assets, are managed within the Authoring Server Asset Database. These uploaded pages, in turn, can be accessed from the Authoring Server by FrontPage for modification independently of any NetObjects client. A NetObjects TeamFusion Client is required to integrate the FrontPage HTML into an Authoring Server page -via referenced HTML.

NetObjects Authoring Server Suite is available through a network of authorized distributors and resellers as well as directly from NetObjects. The base configuration of one Authoring Server with two concurrent client capacity and a two client pack is available for a suggested resale price of $1,585.
